A scrawny kitten walked into a carpentry business in Long Beach, California, magically drawing attention with its meowing.
When the store’s owner, Justin LaRose, heard his cries, he observed a fuzzy creature rubbing his muzzle and paws on the window, anxious to come inside. “He was completely deranged. “As soon as I heard that cry, I knew things were serious,” Justin recalls.
Following a visit to the veterinarian, the kitten was declared healthy, and he began to eat with gusto. When Justin and his wife Kristin moved into their workshop, they already had three cats, a dog, and a “guard” cat. They decided to take the redhead in for a while while they looked for a new home for him.
With the aid of their dogs, they planned to domesticate and socialize the kitten (dubbed Cru). Ollie, a 6-year-old red cat, was considered as the most obnoxious of all the pets in this gorgeous home…
Ollie was a problem boy from the start. “It took four whole years and more patience than we could imagine for him to finally calm down. He loves the dog, but other cats stay away from him,” Christine says.
Not even a day had passed since the appearance of Cru, as an incredible sight opened up to the eyes of a husband and wife …
Ollie expressed his concern for the kitten clearly and showed a level of kindness that the owners had not expected of him.
He was courteous and patient with the newbie, and he sympathized with his childlike antics.
It’s hard to believe your eyes when you see that he has a little friend with whom he is so friendly, despite all the hooligan antics,” Kristin adds.
Ollie took over as Crewe’s older brother and assured the kitten that he would always be his mainstay.
They dine and sleep in the same room.
Yesterday’s tramp has transformed into a bold, assertive cat, mirroring his elder brother’s mannerisms, thanks to Ollie’s help.
The couple planned to keep the kitten until suitable hands could be found, but there was no longer any need to look.
“In my apartment, he bloomed in the presence of dogs. “I’m pleased of my failure with overexposure,” Justin says.
Ollie teaches the kitten cat games and is always the first to arrive at the rescue.
Cru’s height had risen considerably by the time he was six months old. His feelings for Ollie grew even stronger.
Christine exclaims, “I never dreamed Ollie would be so lucky with a companion.”
